Pat Riley, President of the NBA world Champions, the Miami Heat. ( I know… former NBA Champs…I am a heat Fan ok… the Spurs are one good team, congrats…anyways)

In his news conference the other day went on to say that he would do what ever it takes, and he could see this team together for 8 – 10 years and still stay relevant, with multiple championships, finally building that legacy that many teams like the San Antonio Spurs, Lakers, even Boston Celtics built in years past. Yet, many of the last interviews with the players had one common theme.

They all were tired, and weary, it was so hard to keep up, it wasn’t fun, it was work.

Pat Riley’s response, “Maybe they were not mentally ready to go to the finals 4 years in a row, playing 2 more months of basketball every year since”.

Wait, what? Not ready? How can you say you will win multiple championships, but not prepare yourself mentally to actually do it.

How many times, have you heard “I love you forever” and we must assume that forever in their mind was until something stroke a cord with them, and so they walk out of the relationships. How many times have we embark in something thinking it would be easier and it got complicated quickly. There is a real, sometimes harsh truth to the old adage, “It’s easier SAID, then DONE.”  When you say you have victory, when you say you can overcome, when you boast on having the goods to last, nothing or no one can deter me.

Get ready for life to challenge you and test your resolve.

The Peace that we spoke of yesterday will be tried, your courage will be contended, your character challenged. How long can you go? how long can you last? I know we all have limits, and the straw that broke the camels back is common. But…

You were created with great purpose and there are resources available to get the job done and finish what you started. Though we can get weary, we can rise up. Like the Spurs did, giving Miami a basketball clinic. You just have to look deeper, Jesus makes a way for us to be more than conquerors. He paid a such a price and got the Victory. We have to give Jesus a try. He can help you live a long-lasting, faith-filled and full life. Look to build your legacy. Get ready to overcome and keep the championships coming to you. Before you know it, you won’t be talking about how many you will win, but you will have them telling the story for you. I leave you with this scripture for you to meditate. Please, leave a comment if you can…

He will not fear evil tidings; His heart is steadfast, trusting in the Lord. Ps. 112:7 NASB
