My attempt at Poetry, Acronyms and Process

PATH of great strife and

RESISTANCE, where good, evil, and status quo are mingling and procrastinating

ORDER is called out, and works our life a new beginning

CHARACTER is built in consistency and discipline;

EQUIPPING us to thrive

SAVING and Salvaging;  the mess in our lives.

( Wait….Pause… and you realize, after many days of vigorous training)

SUCCESS is attainable, but very prestigious; its not granted, its not just given.

Try it again, please.

Whenever there are technical difficulties, it’s no time to quit. You have to get back to the heart of pursuit, which lies in the question… How bad do you want it?

Are you a bit closer Today?

NY Mets’ Jeurys Familia, 24 year old from the Domincan Republic is getting his chance to be that pitcher, and has a great future in front of him. He would be that one that seals the game. The one that makes those teams wake up and realize it’s over. A Closer is one who finishes games. A closer is someone in charge to finish what others may have started. A closer is someone that has the capability to find a solution and an answer to conclude the game, episode, crime case or what ever else is DUE TO FINISH.

We need to have this tenacity in us, because unlike a baseball team, we may not have someone to relieve us and finish what we began.

So many beginnings and very few finishers.

Procrastination, distractions, mood swings are sometimes the culprits of our destiny and purpose. WE CANNOT allow them to get away with it any more. It’s not enough to dream, to be a visionary, to hope for one day. its not enough to just write it down. You must get up, this fine day and determined yourself to finish. Here are a few tips to finish strong in every endeavor you have begun.

1. Take inventory. What do you have at hand? Where are you in life? How many more pieces do you need? You’ll be surprise to find that you had it with you all the time, if you just looked for it. This is the first step.

2. There’s more coming. Did you know that when Jesus was on Earth he fulfilled over 300 prophesies. Its a fact. we struggle with 1. I know you say well he was “Jesus”. Yes, but he was a man. and he walked knowing there was more to him than just being good to people, he was on a mission. There is more to your life. There is another chapter to your book. There will be more opportunities, new ideas, more creativity. SAY MORE!

3. The grand feeling of accomplishment. Until you finish something you will be the one doing all the talking, all the wishing and making the people believe in you. When you finish something of value for you, You become more valuable to others and your accomplishments will speak volumes of your life. Change your thinking, change your words. There is power of life and death in them.  Oh! the Joy of seeing the vision come to pass…

4. Surround yourself with Finishers. This is why I follow Jesus, he even said it at the cross. “IT IS FINISHED!” They are out there. Look for them. Follow their lead. GET YOURSELF IN THE RIGHT ENVIRONMENT OF FAITH!  Once you are there, ask questions, study their motives, read their books. Live the life.

5. It is worth the effort. Imagine what your life would be if you wrote those books, started that business, finally married that girl? Whatever that is, it will take effort, it will be a new road, it will take more out of you. Just remember, that if the desire is there, you have an obligation to yourself and your creator to explore all the possibilities and abilities he has giving you. In the end, you will be glad you did.

Looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.  Hebrews 12:2

How many Championships can YOU win? Not 4, Not 5, Not 6…

Pat Riley, President of the NBA world Champions, the Miami Heat. ( I know… former NBA Champs…I am a heat Fan ok… the Spurs are one good team, congrats…anyways)

In his news conference the other day went on to say that he would do what ever it takes, and he could see this team together for 8 – 10 years and still stay relevant, with multiple championships, finally building that legacy that many teams like the San Antonio Spurs, Lakers, even Boston Celtics built in years past. Yet, many of the last interviews with the players had one common theme.

They all were tired, and weary, it was so hard to keep up, it wasn’t fun, it was work.

Pat Riley’s response, “Maybe they were not mentally ready to go to the finals 4 years in a row, playing 2 more months of basketball every year since”.

Wait, what? Not ready?

Wait, what? Not ready? How can you say you will win multiple championships, but not prepare yourself mentally to actually do it.

How many times, have you heard “I love you forever” and we must assume that forever in their mind was until something stroke a cord with them, and so they walk out of the relationships. How many times have we embark in something thinking it would be easier and it got complicated quickly. There is a real, sometimes harsh truth to the old adage, “It’s easier SAID, then DONE.”  When you say you have victory, when you say you can overcome, when you boast on having the goods to last, nothing or no one can deter me.

Get ready for life to challenge you and test your resolve.

The Peace that we spoke of yesterday will be tried, your courage will be contended, your character challenged. How long can you go? how long can you last? I know we all have limits, and the straw that broke the camels back is common. But…

YOU ARE NOT A CAMEL. YOU ARE BUILT FOR THE LONG HAUL, but you are no animal.

You were created with great purpose and there are resources available to get the job done and finish what you started. Though we can get weary, we can rise up. Like the Spurs did, giving Miami a basketball clinic. You just have to look deeper, Jesus makes a way for us to be more than conquerors. He paid a such a price and got the Victory. We have to give Jesus a try. He can help you live a long-lasting, faith-filled and full life. Look to build your legacy. Get ready to overcome and keep the championships coming to you. Before you know it, you won’t be talking about how many you will win, but you will have them telling the story for you. I leave you with this scripture for you to meditate. Please, leave a comment if you can…

He will not fear evil tidings; His heart is steadfast, trusting in the Lord. Ps. 112:7 NASB

Shalom all over you!

I had a client a few years back that every time we would say goodbye, he would say Shalom all over you. while his hand gestures would encircle my whole body, at the beginning i thought he was a little weird, but there was a time he said and it would fit right in…  I was thinking about this recently because sometimes you do need Peace all over you. You have to have peace in your heart, but your mind can be thinking a thousand thoughts. you could have peace in your mind, but your feet are pacing all trough your living room. You might be sleeping (sort of) and your body is toss and turning. I have a good one, you can say you have Peace but your words are spent talking more about the things you fear and the uncertain possibilities of what if. How can you possibly be completely at Peace?

Jesus said, Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. John 14:27

So you see there two kinds of peace, Jesus understood that this world we are living in can give you some kind of peace, some security…

Think about this for a moment, life insurance doesn’t come into effect until you die, you know what I mean? There is a peace that surpasses all human reasoning. The peace of God, the Shalom of Heaven has to be the greatest of all, have you asked for it? We all go trough storms, trouble, and sometimes get afraid of the unknown future… but he promised.

Maybe you are fine today, but is there anybody you know that needs to hear this words? Take time and tell someone. Jesus said he would leave it to us, his Peace. I believe this is the shalom that can go all over you. The perfect peace that comes when we stay trusting, leaning, and dependent on Him.  PEACE!

One good gift!

One of my spiritual sons gave me this book

LEAD… FOR God’s Sake!

written by Todd G. Gongwer, yesterday for Father’s Day. A couple of things, first it’s a real paper back book, which now a days it seems a bit old fashioned. But I love it. Sometimes you have to be able to put all electronics aside and just have a good moment with a good book. Second thing, it’s about leadership. A leader cannot stop learning if he wants to keep leading. You cannot give what you don’t have, so… I have purposed myself to sumerge myself in the subject. And third of all, Mr. Ken Blanchard put a little nice quote in front of it, saying he read it in two sittings. Wow! Ok. I will try but no guarantees, it might take me a few more. Which takes me to my last point… I want to finish what I begin. We’ll talk about THAT later… Have a great Monday, May God favor you and show you mercy, and lead you beyond your expectations…

A real father who wants to lead his family knows when to lower the sails, humble himself, allow the winds to come… The storm to pass… Just drop his anchors and stand firm!

Father’s note to self

We are Leaders by our very own name we carry, no matter what we do, we are being watched, imitated, and followed.
